Academics

ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE

1.Student are eligible for scholarship only if they earn more then 80% of attendance in each term
2.Hence no student will be allowed to absent himself from the Institution without a leave application which must be made before hand to the principal through his H.O.D. In case where the absence is due to unforce seen causes an possible (not later than the first day of his return to the institution). Leave applied in proper time will be granted on reasonable causes shown, but in case of sickness extending over three days, the principal may require the submission of a medical certificate.

EXAMINATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.The following is the maximum time limit permitted for the completion of the Diploma course.
a. Regular students admitted in First year-6 years.
b. H.S.C. students admitted in the III semester -5 years.
2.Sessional marks for all the theory and practical subjects are dispensed with. In practical subjects 25% is allotted for records.
3.For a pass in Board Examinations a candidate has to secure a minimum of 40% in theory subjects and 50% in practical subjects.
4. The candidate on completion of studies in each semester should necessarily register themselves for all the subjects for the current examination as well as for all the arrear subjects of all the previous semester examinations and appear for board examinations in that semester.
5.If a candidate is detected copying in the exam hall or found to be in possession of any sheet of paper or including in any other types of malpractice, the examinations written by him may either be cancelled or he may be debarred from writing examinations further.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT FOR THE EXAMINATION

1.A student should secure a minimum of 80% attendance in aggregate and 75% attendance in the individual subject to become eligible for writing board examinations each semester.
2.Students not fulfilling the above requirements will not be permitted to appear for Board Examination and will be detained from the course for the year.
3.If a student get sufficient attendance but fail to appear for the ensuing examination, he/she will be detained.

PASSING REQUIREMENT

For a pass in Board's Examination, a candidate has to secure a minimum marks of 40% in Theory subjects and 50% in practical subjects.

CLASSIFICATION OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES

a. I CLASS WITH HONORS: A candidate will be declared to have passed in I-class with Honors, if he/she secure not less than 75% of the aggregate marks in all semester put together except I-year, and passes all the semester in the first appearance itself and completes all papers including that of I-year, within the stipulated period of study without any break (3 years).
b. I-CLASS:A candidate will be declared to have passed in I-class if he/she secures not than 60% of the aggregate marks in all semesters put together, except I-year, and completes all papers including that of I-year within the stipulated period of time without any break (3 years).
c. II-CLASS: All others successful candidates will be declared to have passed in second class.

IDENTITY CARD

Each student should possess an identity card with his photograph affixed on it duly attested by the principal. He is required to keep the card with him and use it on the following occasions.
1.As an Identification certificate to appear for Board Examinations.
2.To get concessional tickets.
3.For the receipt of Fee concession, Scholarship etc., in the Institution.
4.To get the library token.
5.For Identity at post office and Bank.
6.As a general Identity card.

DISCIPLINE

1.Students should come clean and tidy. 2.Workshop Students should come in proper uniform and shoes. 3.They should be regular and punctual in attending classes and all activities connected with the institution. 4.The first bell, announcing commencement of the session is to find them seated in their respective places pertaining to that hour. 5.Gathering in groups at the entrance, exit, pathways, play fields, gardens and gates is forbidden.

 6.As a mark of courtesy, they should greet their friends, classmates and the members of the staff when meeting. 7.On entering the class, they must observe silence, irrespective of the presence or absence of the teacher. 8.They should get up quietly, as the teacher enters the class and keep standing till the latter sits or asks them to be seated. 9.No student shall leave the class room without the permission of the teacher. 

10.Students are not permitted to leave the class or come late under the pretext of paying fees or taking books from the library. Time fixed for such purpose during working hours must be strictly adhered to. 11.Students shall walk silently and in an orderly manner when they move from one class to another. 12.Students are expected to read notices put up on the notice board. Ignorance of any notice displayed will not be accepted as an excuse for failing to comply with the directions contained in it. 13.No meeting of any kind shall be held in the polytechnic premises without the written permission of the principal. 14.No notice of any kind shall be circulated among students or displayed on the notice board without the written permission of the principal. No information of report should be sent to the press or broadcasting agencies without the permission and approval of the principal. 

15.Bicycles and other vehicles must be parked in proper places. vehicles found in unauthorized places will be impounded and released only on payment of fine. 16.Students watching games are expected to show sports-manship in their appreciation. they must not indulge in jeering or shouting that will discourage any player or team. 17.While attending polytechnic or public functions, they should conduct themselves and to the institution. 18.They should promptly stand in attention when the national anthem is played at any meeting or function. 19.Health,Hygiene,sanitation and good habits go to make a good citizen. spitting, smoking and throwing bits of paper or rubbish at places are harmful and must be avoided. spittoons and dustbins provided for the purposes should be used on all occasions. 

20.Students are forbidden from taking any part in political activities of any kind, particularly in those directed against the authority of the government. 21.Students are forbidden from entering the office room and the staff rooms during unspecified hours. 22.Students are prohibited from defacing or damaging the building or furniture in any way. The cost of any damage so caused will be recovered from the students collectively, if the responsibility for it cannot be fixed on any individual or group of individuals. 23.Representation of complaints and grievances may be made to the principal through the head of the department. Under the government's educational rules the principal has full powers to inflict the following punishments-fine, loss of attendance, loss of term certificates, suspension and expulsion. 24.The principal's decision is final in matters of punishments of the students for violation of any of the rules of the institution. 

25.All payments can be remitted in the office between 9.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. only on all working days. 26.If a student fail to pay fees on or before the specified date of payment, a penalty of Rs.10/- for each working day after the due date shall be levied. If the fees are not paid within the stipulated time as specified above his name shall be struck off the rolls. if re-admitted, he should pay a re-admission fee of Rs.10/- in addition to the fees and penalty. 27.Removal of the names from the rolls shall entail forfeiture of attendance till the date of re-admission. 28.If a student leaves the polytechnic during any term, he shall have no right to claim a remission of any portion of the term fees. 29.No student will be allowed in to the class, if they fail to pay the fees with penalty before the specified date. Fees once paid will not be refunded Note: Students should not wear T-shirts inside the campus.
